Video for the seminar "Lost and Found", art in the context of endangered languages
(Dr. Mandana Seyfeddinipur, Prof. Dr. Jörg Heiser)
Only the survivor can establish death. The survivor's responsibility, according to Primo Levi, is to witness and is therefore condemned to speak for third parties, on their behalf, avoiding the role of victors, but still collaborating with hegemonic language to convey the experiences of the losers. Deleuze, on the other hand, sympathises with a hybrid and transitory identity that is not stable but constantly reconfigured. "In order to achieve self-identity, the subject must identify with the imagined other - must submit to alienation, must assume its identity outside itself..."
The core element of the video is the word "human" spoken in different languages, visualised through an audio spectrum and transformed into a video by a neural network. The dynamics of the abstract minimalist narrative metaphorically show the absorption of the majority by the minority. The dominant languages merge into a chorus and hum, the "whispered utterance" of the disappearing/sleeping languages fades away, even if they appear as soloists for a while. Multitudes of the hegemonic languages, momentarily in solidarity with it, collapse and become it, empathising with the experience of the Other.
White flag.
2022. Music: Apathe.
The white flag of peace is not torn, it is made of bandages. It is a failed, impossible negotiation, a desperate call for peace, a call to lay down arms to all those sent to fight and capture rather than defend.

Stairs. HD-Video.
Performance. 2014. Artplay. Moscow.
The action lasted about an hour. The performance had an open end, it was designed to interact with the audience, or I had to fall and no longer get up breathless. However, the reaction exceeded my expectations. At some point, one of the spectators could not stand it anymore and rushed up the other side of the stairs and pushed the assistant down. >>>>>>>

Erasing. 2014. HD video
Performance. 2014.
One's actions are not only modelled by thoughts of the future, «looks forward», but also under the influence of events from the past. The inability to chase away thoughts and memories away makes one unconsciously repeat seemingly meaningless actions. In rubbing one's face, hands, as if performing a magical meditative ritual, there is some kind of healing, getting rid from obsessive phantoms of the past. >>>>>>

2 STAGE. HD video from project «2 stage».
Personal show, 2012, Zverev Center. Moscow.
Work nominated for the Kandinsky Prize.
Common knowledge in psychology: Elisabeth Kubler-Ross has identified five stages of grief, loss of a loved one. This principle applies to acceptance of any other unexpected events. Stage 2 ― aggression. Stage 5 ― acceptance. According to statistics, only 2% of people reach the 5th stage.
But (there is always a «but»), people do not disappear forever. >>>>>>>
